Rest is a mobile application, available for iPhone and Android platforms that enables people to book flexible stays at hotels. You can check in and out of hotels anytime and pay as you stay.
Step 1: Find a nearby hotel
Launch the Rest app and find a hotel and it's respective per-min rates, cap-rates and stay estimates through the Rest app.
Step 2: Scan to Check-In
Make your way to the hotel and scan the Rest QR code found on the hotel's front-desk using the Rest app. You will be checked-in through the Rest app once your profile and payment methods have been verified. A 10 mins grace will be given to you upon check-in.
Alternatively, if you need travel time, you can reserve a room for a maximum of 40 minutes by selecting the "Hold a room" option on the app. Your stay begins during check-in or in 40 minutes, whichever comes first. Scan the QR to begin the check-in process after arriving to the hotel.
Step 3: Stay as long as you like
The room, along with the hotel's amenities are yours for as long as you need. The minimum stay time is 2 hours. You will be charged by the minute after 2 hours, ensuring your stays are flexible and affordable. When you hit the cap rate of the hotel, per-min pricing stops and you can stay for the day. Per-min pricing resumes the following day.
Step 4: Scan to Check-Out
Scan the QR code at the reception again to check-out and be charged.
The maximum number of simultaneous guests in a room is 2.
Rooms are cleaned to the same exact standards of a full-day booking.
There is no predefined stay duration when you use Rest. You can stay anywhere between 2 hours to even several days using Rest and still end up paying lesser than traditional bookings.
If your phone runs out of battery, you will still continue to be charged and when you are ready to check-out, head over to the reception and request them to check-out.
No. Rest stays are booked in real-time. However, you can make a 40 minute room reservation to travel to the hotel.
If you have not setup automated guest verification, a valid government-issued identification card or a passport will be required during check-in.
You must be atleast 18 years old to book a stay using Rest.
Rest has developed automated guest verification technology to decrease check-in times.
During your first visit to any Rest partner hotel, you will be required to take front and back pictures of your ID (in front of the hotelier) through the app. This allows the hotelier to verify your identity.
The ID photos would then be stored on your phone. For future visits to any Rest partner hotels, you only need to take a selfie for biometric verification. The frontdesk will then receive a verified copy of your ID for record-keeping (as per government regulations).
Yes. For room-service add ons, usage of the minibar and usage of paid facilities, you will be billed under additional charges after your stay. Simply quote your room number if necessary.
Rest lets you pay using a credit card or the Rest wallet for stays. For debit card users, you will need to transfer funds into the Rest wallet in order to stay.
The hotel's price-per-min rates are determined by the hotel's type, room cost, occupancy and the time of booking.
The cap rate is the hotel's daily rate. If you hit the cap rate while using Rest, your stay will only be prorated to the minute on the following day.
You can only incur additional charges to your account due to the following scenarios that include, but are not limited to room damage, minibar use and on-demand services.
In the event that you incur a negative balance on your Rest wallet, you will not be able to make future stays using the Rest application, until you top-up funds to settle the negative Rest wallet balance.
Prices displayed on the Rest app are inclusive of taxes and service charges.
An invoice is sent to your email address provided, after you complete your stay. You can also find your invoices in the ‘View Payment History’ page under your Rest wallet.
Guests using Rest will enjoy cost-savings by having their stays prorated to the minute. Your stay begins when you scan to check-in and ends when you scan to check-out. A total of 10 minutes grace will be given for check-in/out movement time. The cost of your stay will be displayed live on the app after check-in and is determined by how long you stay.
Check-out within 2 hours : You will be charged for the cost of a 2 hour stay at the selected hotel.
After 2 hours : Your stay’s cost will prorated to the minute until it hits the cap-rate, after which you may elect to continue staying for the rest of the day without additional charges.
After 22 hours : The price-per-min charge will resume after 22 hours, until it hits the next day's cap rate.
Credit card users : You will be charged after you check out.
Debit card users : If you do not have sufficient funds topped up in your Rest wallet before or during the stay, a payment notice would appear requesting you to top up your wallet. If your wallet's balance reaches zero during the stay, you will be given 5 minutes grace to top up. If you fail to do so, you will automatically be checked out.
For example, for a hotel that costs $250 a night, your stay will cost roughly around $23/hr. (This is just an hourly estimate, your stay will be prorated to the nearest minute. This is also only an estimate, and may increase during peak periods or when occupancy in the hotel is high.)
Once your stay's cost hits the hotel's daily rate, it will be capped, ensuring that you do not pay more for the day. Prorated charging resumes the following day.
